On Tuesday, the La Massana City Council unanimously approved the extension of the temporary suspension of parceling and new urban development permits. This is possible thanks to the recent amendment of the General Law on Territorial and Urban Planning, which allows an extension of up to 18 months. The initial suspension began on April 24, 2024, and was scheduled to end tomorrow. With this new extension, it will now continue until October 2026.
Le Conseil communal de La Massana a approuvé mardi à l’unanimité la prolongation de la suspension temporaire des permis de lotissement et de nouvelles urbanisations. Cette mesure est rendue possible grâce à la récente modification de la Loi générale d’aménagement du territoire et d’urbanisme, qui autorise une prolongation allant jusqu’à 18 mois. La suspension initiale avait commencé le 24 avril 2024 et devait se terminer demain. Grâce à cette extension, elle est désormais prolongée jusqu’en octobre 2026.

Therefore, we support an additional 18-month suspension, as we believe this is the most prudent and consistent choice."
